I was leaving Utah today, and really wanted to paint one more painting. As soon as everything was packed, I painted this final landscape and portrait of my sister-in-law. The snow from a few days ago had not been enough to completely cover the mountains. My ID fell out of my pocket as I was painting this, and I only found out once I got to the airport. This was a hectic day, but at least I was able to capture this last moment of peace before the chaos of a travel day!

Painting from life, is always a special way of creating art. Capturing the energy of the moment and getting to decide which parts to include or not include. By utilizing a limited pallet and limited brushes, I am forced to get creative in how each detail is portrayed.
